Dr Michael W Bailey

Dr. Michael W. Bailey was born in England and grew up in the Island of Barbados for 11 years.  His family moved to South Florida in 1980.  He received a B.S. Degree in Microbiology from the University of Georgia and his Dental degree from the Medical College of Georgia.  Upon graduation, Dr. Bailey completed a 1 year residency in Advance General Dentistry in the U.S. Air Force at Sheppard AFB, TX.  He served 8 years as a dental officer in such locations as England and the Republic of Panama.  His last assignment was at Patrick AFB in Cocoa Beach, FL.

Dr. Bailey earned numerous awards and decorations while serving in the U.S. Air Force.  Among them included meritorious service medal, second oak leaf cluster for distinctive service.  He also earned a humanitarian medal for dental service offered to Cuban refugees during Operation Safe Haven in the Republic of Panama.  In 1996, Dr. Bailey was recognized as the top Junior Dental Officer of the year for Air Combat Command, which is one of the largest Commands in the U.S. Air Force.  He was hand-picked in 1997 to attend the exclusive Top Drill Course in Aerospace dentistry at Kingsley Field Oregon.  He spent 3 weeks working and flying with an F-16 Fighter Squadron, studying the effects of altitude and pressure changes on teeth.  He ascended to the rank of Major before separating from the Air Force.

Dr. Bailey is active in the dental community.  He is a Pre-fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry and a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association and the Tri-County Dental Society.  He stays on the cutting edge of general dentistry with over 500 hours of continuing education credit and successfully completed 200 mimimal conscious sedation cases without incident.  Dr. Bailey is a member in good-standing with DOCS (Dental Organization of Conscious Sedation).

As a general dentist, Dr. Bailey practices almost all facets of dentistry.  His practice philosophy is that through comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and prevention, he can help his patients achieve and maintain optimum dental health and function over a lifetime.  He and his staff believe gentle, painless dental care is not just a possibility, but a reality. Dr. Bailey is an avid outdoorsman and family man. He plays tennis and golf, and he is a certified advance open water scuba diver. He enjoys spending his two children, Ayianna and Alexander.
